Support is found in more ways than in a push up bra

Well, sometimes we just need a hand. We have exhausted our own engines and booster buttons, and we need some encouragement from those around us.

Sometimes support comes in the strangest of ways (ie. social media), but it is welcomed nonetheless.

Our very first supporters in life are usually our parents and family environment. As we grow older it expands to our friends, school environment, teachers, fellow team members and so on.

Then we hit adulthood. Things can change greatly with life commitments, new family additions, new locations and different time zones. Support can dwindle and create feelings of unworthiness, and in many cases we push away support due to our pride.

Support in life is essential to moving forward and growing. It comes from a place of love, and that is the essential core of all things. Without love, it won’t work and it won’t last.

Take a look at your body for example. Hundreds of billions of cells support each other for your body to function every single day, and your body alone is a support vessel for your soul to carry out life experiences. Without bones, muscles, tissues, fuel, reproduction and energy systems you could not exist.

Support is instrumental to being happy, healthy, successful and in growth. It is nature’s way.

Just take a look at animals and how they support each other when they are being hunted down by predators. Even trees are known to rest their branches on other trees for support as they sleep at night. What about humans coming together in times of need? It is ingrained in life.

Support isn’t always monetary and it’s not just found online. It can be from a simple phone call to ask how one is, to babysitting for the next few hours while your friend works on her new online bikini business. The smallest gesture can be the greatest leap for another.

We all need some guidance. We all need some help. We all need some advice in our careers, relationships and with ourselves at times. We can even strengthen bonds when we ask for support. Honestly, how good does it feel when someone you care about asks you for your time and help?

So in closing this little post today, make it a point on your weekly goals for this week to send some love to your friends, and let them know you are available for help if they require. Take an extra 10mins with your colleague at work to ease their stress levels (this may also be you that needs that extra 10mins). Help promote your favourite food company’s new product that you love…somebody else’s taste buds might just benefit.

We are all in this together. Support what you believe in, support with what you are able to, and as life has it, what goes around comes back to kiss you.
